It was a Nazi-Soviet non-agression pact. Signed in August of 1939, the agreement between the Germans and Soviets denounced warfare among themselves. It also divided Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Romania into Nazi and Soviet spheres of influence.
