Excerpt from Martin Luther King Jr. speech -meaning?

I believe it means: he matter what a man does he is judged by society. It does not matter if he is a man is a great author, a great preacher, a great worker or a transcendentalist (this perhaps refers to the house in the woods just like Thoreau) because society will find a reason to judge their character or etc. THAT IN THIS WORLD, YOU CANT JUST ISOLATE YOURSELF, BUT PEOPLE WILL LOOK AND FIND YOU OR SOMETHING ABOUT YOU.
