What video editing package do you suggest for my 11 year old niece? Pinnacle or Adobe?

I currently use Adobe Premiere Elements 7. I'm sure I don't use as many features as I could, but it works well for me and I'm happy with it. My niece is getting into video editing. She's computer-savvy and a bright little cookie - so what do you suggest my sister gets for her to use? I'm thinking if she gets Adobe then I can help her with it, but I hear Pinnacle is more "intuitive". What do you think?
