Should I become an LPN first or go for ADN/BSN?

I would like to become a nurse anesthetist one day, and know that in order to get into a program you need a bsn first. However, my gpa is HORRRIBLE (<2.0), and most of the programs in my area are so competitive that even some people with the best gpas are not able to get in. Should I become an LPN first, and then bridge to an RN from there? Or should I focus on getting either an ociates or bachelors?
