I live in Ft Lauderdale Florida and i have been renting my house for the last four months. I recently found out that this house is in shortsale and that my landlord is not paying the morgage company with the rent i have been paying him. Its 1500 a month and as soon as i give him that check on the first of the month he immediatly goes and cashes it. My lease is for a year and i just need to know if its even legal for him to be renting this house collecting rent if its in shortsale and if i should be paying?
