A question about dementia patients?

is there a specific term for dementia sufferers who perform repeated meaningless movements? I saw one lady moving a gl from the table to her ear and back, perfectly similar for fifteen minutes. Her face was totally blank - any idea of where she was or stories of people that you were close to with dementia and you discussed what they were thinking?
